Privacy Policy

Effective July 23, 2026

Surface Camera does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal information. There are no analytics, no trackers, no third-party SDKs, and no Surface servers. Your photos and settings stay on your device.

The short version

Surface Camera is a film camera app. Everything it does happens on your iPhone. We — the developers of Surface Camera — never receive your photos, your usage data, or your location. We have no account system and no backend to send anything to.

What the app accesses, and why

• Camera — to take photos. Nothing else.
• Photo Library — the app saves your captures into a "Surface Camera" album in your own Photos library and reads them back so you can view and edit them. Photos never leave your device except through your own private iCloud sync (which is between you and Apple, not us) or exports you explicitly choose to share.
• Location (optional) — only if you grant it, and only to embed GPS coordinates into a photo's metadata, exactly like an ordinary camera. This stays inside the photo file on your device. We never see it and never use it for tracking.

Subscriptions and purchases

If you subscribe to Surface Camera, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your name, payment details, or billing information — Apple manages all of that. Apple's handling of that data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Analytics and tracking

None. Surface Camera contains no analytics frameworks, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking of any kind. The App Store privacy label reflects this.

Children

Surface Camera is a general-audience camera app and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
